                10 Weight Loss Tips

                1.       Maintain a low – medium calorie diet that is high in fibre with plenty of fruit and vegetables, is low in fat and balanced for fat, protein and carbohydrates (15%, 30% , 55%)

                2.       Avoid sugar because sugar provides instant energy to the body and any that you don't burn up will automatically be stored as fat for later use

                3.       Drink lots of water

                4.       Do aerobic exercise 2-3 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes

                5.       Supplement your diet with a good quality multivitamin, this actually helps your body use up calories as well as keeping you healthy so your weight loss is more sustainable

                6.       Avoid saturated fats altogether

                7.       Follow the 90:10 rule which means 90% of the time you eat really well and 10% of the time you can indulge in favourite foods and drinks

                8.       Cut down your meat consumption as much as you can. If you must eat meat make sure it's lean. Free range turkey or chicken (skin removed) oily fish or lean lamb are your best choices

                9.       Limit your alcohol intake significantly as it is very high in calories and sugar

                10.   Address the underlying issues of weight gain, which includes psychological factors as well as things such as large portion sizes, sugar and fat cravings, poor eating habits, loneliness, boredom, poor metabolism, low self-esteem and tiredness
